Participate

Participating in sermotion.com is simple, all one has to do is use a sermotion on their blog near relevant posts. A sermotion is a way of annotating emotional content and looks as follows:

sermotion:emotion

To make life simple you can just cut and paste the following code and modify the two emotion parts in the code to one of the available emotions listed below.

<a href="http://www.sermotion.com/emotion" rel="tag">
	sermotion:emotion
</a>

If you want to get really fancy you can learn some css and creativily display the sermotion. The following block of code is what I use on my blog. Take note of the eye soothing teal color.

<div style="border-top: teal thin solid;">
	<a href="http://www.sermotion.com/emotion" rel="tag">
		sermotion:emotion
	</a>
</div>

You can see the usage of sermotions in action on my blog at inthefootstepsofgiants.blogspot.com.

For those who are familiar with tags and Technorati, sermotions are Technorati tag compliant.

The Sermotion Founding Fifty

A member of the Sermotion Founding Fifty will forever have a link to their blog/site listed on the founding fity page. Just so we are all clear here, forever means as long as sermotion.com is up and running and under my control. It is a subjective forever.

Once the Sermotion Founding Fifty have been established you can still send in your blog info. We will eventually think of some clever way to display all the blogs that participate in sermotion, we just haven't thought of it yet.

To become a member of the Sermotion Founding Fifty a grueling and tedious exercise must be accomplished. First as per the instructions above you must make use of sermotions on your blog.

Then you must email the following to contact@sermotion.com:

Upon receiving said email a committee of highly repected intellectuals will look at your blog and make sure it isn't just a bunch of spam. The committee will also make sure sermotions are being used. If you can get past this step you are in!

Remember that to be a highly respected member of the Sermotion Founding Fifty you must continuously use sermotions on relevant posts to your blog/site. This is crucial!
